Career History: The racing career of Dayton Cote started in 2006 because of a dear friend and also an employee of DC Warehousing & Recycling in Drew Chapman who started working part time with Jeremy Tuttle of Ske Power Plants. Chapman talked Cote into starting his kids racing career at a new local track that was opening in the area. Cote started out racing an older late 80's chassis from Nick Hurley. "After the 06 season and watching my son progress, I realized that my kid had talent and more than the average 10 year old kid." said Dennis Cote. "We fought for sponsorship and worked on getting him a new kart for 2007." The 2006 season seen Dayton picked up 1 feature victory, 10 top 5 finishes and he finished 2nd in season points. "We would not have done this without support from sponsors and friends."

Dennis bought Dayton a new kart for the 2007 racing season. It was a 2006 Ultramax Inferno and father Dennis who had no experience in kart racing relied on out of state help in Billy Hine and Tiger Bell and both of their kids where track champions in New York and Vermont. "Dayton and myself spent a weekend in Wells, Vermont at my father Al Cote's house and I had a crash course on sets ups, scaling, car adjustments and more." Following the trip it took the father and son half a season to find victory. The Cote's came back with more confidence and Dennis felt he could give Dayton a chassis he could win with and his sons talent would excel. Even through the difficult times and a few weeks of Dennis being threaten to be fired by Dayton, they agreed on a probation period (lol) and the kart finally dialed in and wins became frequent. Cote scored 8 feature wins, 13 top 5 finished and placed 2nd in Novice Blue points standings. "What makes me proud is that Dayton was willing to make changes and not just little ones, drastic ones and experiment to find speed." said Cote. "We constantly changed and Dayton had the trust of change and showed no fear of running loose." Jeremy Tuttle of Ske Power Plants did the engines for the 2006 and 2007 racing seasons.

The 2008 racing season, Cote started with the same kart and focused on the championship. "We switched our motor program to two local friends in Scott Farrell the owner of Wyalusing NAPA who builds kart motors and Chris Snyder, who currently builds major Modified and Stock Car motors throughout the Northeast." stated Cote. "We started ahead of the 8 ball, we took last seasons chassis and a new motor and finally started a season complete and felt confident that our 2008 season would end in glory". "My son Dayton had an intense and incredible season and ended up dealing with an incredible, political and bias decision from our Speedway." Cote had to finish the last 3 weeks with heat and feature wins to lock up the Championship. Cote scored 10 feature wins total including Nightmare Weekend '08. "I want to thank my son for being who he his and standing tall and proud and having the willing to fight through tough times to be successful.

Special Thanks: Dad, Mom, Drew Chapman, Tony & Beth Ann Morgenthau, Chad Chaffin, Brock Moore, Brian Elliott, Greg Turner and to everyone who has supported my racing career.
